1 must admit I never really bought a lot of new makeup in 2017. I think I’ve found some products that really work with me and I’ve saw myself just re-purchasing them this year. My aim for 2018 is to get my makeup mojo back and try new things!
- Nivea Post Shave Balm – £5
Can I get a hallelujah!? A £5 drugstore product that works as a ‘primer’ and is like an absolute glue for holding your makeup on. I laughed when I first read about this – but holy moly it totally works. And the cherry on top is that this is normally always on offer for around £3! Bargain.
2. TooFaced Hangover primer – £27
While we’re on the topic of primers lets talk about this little beauty. I find this and the Nivea Post Shave Balm very similar. More of a runny consistency, not like the silicone primers you can get – I don’t like them. This and the Nivea one apply like more of a cream and set feeling almost tacky – which your makeup sticks to! Voila.
3. Urban Decay Naked Concealer – £19
LOVE THIS! I used to swear by the Nars Creamy Concealer but this one is A) cheaper, and B) better!Ha. It glides on and blends beautifully. I normally put this under my eyes (to conceal), on the bridge of my nose and a little bit on my chin (to highlight) and then I’ll set it with a loose translucent powder. Perfect combo!
4. L’oreal Paradise Extatic mascara – £11.99
This one is a newer purchase for me. I bought this around Nov/Dec 2017 and it is already a must have! I love the big fluffy brush – something I look for in a mascara. It catches all my little eyelashes and makes them appear instantly thicker! Very similar to the TooFaced Better Than Sex mascara and for two thirds of the price!
5. Ofra Everglow Highlighter collab with NikkieTutorials – £25
I totally jumped on the bandwagon when this collab got announced. The queen of highlight herself was bringing out her own highlighter?!?! Aaaaand it totally lived up to all expectations. I love the fact there are three highlight shades in one. Depending on how tan I am I know this highlight will see me right. Or sometimes I blend them all together if I’m feeling that lil bit extra! An absolute fav of mine. Also love the MAC Soft & Gentle for a more subtle look!
6. Kat Von D Tattoo liner in Trooper – £16
ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE IN YOUR MAKEUP BAG! I’ve tried a lot of liquid liners and this is by far the best. It doesn’t smudge, it applies jet black and doesn’t wear off. Love it.
7. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – £40
I have yet to find a nicer shade of foundation than 5.25. It’s the most gorgeous tan shade, not orange in any way. It makes me look really healthy! Applies brilliant (I use a beauty blender), lasts all day, I don’t look shiny. I’ve recently ran out so I mussssst buy more!
